Hannah and Kenny

Hannah and Kenny had the most gorgeous wedding at The Caves in Edinburgh.

We had the absolute pleasure of designing Hannah’s bespoke wedding dress!

How would you describe your Mirka Bridal Couture experience?

My experience with Mirka Bridal was more than I could have imagined! Mirka’s boutique was my first ever experience trying on wedding dresses so I felt very nervous. Mirka and her daughter made my visit PERFECT! I’ll remember that first day forever. I’m so so happy we got the bridesmaid dresses through Mirka too. The boutique will always be so special to me.

Tell us a bit about your dress and your inspiration for your bespoke gown.

I had so many pictures of dresses I had screenshotted from Instagram and Pinterest some were Lacey some were sparkly but one thing they all had was sleeves. I knew I wanted sleeves 100% the rest I was happy to see what I felt was right. I tried on 6 dresses all very different and only one with sleeves which I automatically thought was ‘the one’ but there was another dress that I also loved that didn’t have sleeves. When Mirka and her daughter suggested I have my dress made I was absolutely over the moon and was so excited because it really was my dream dress! I got to have a skirt too which meant my dress looked different during the day than it did at night time! I got the absolute best of both worlds!

What was your biggest wedding inspiration?

Our main goal for our wedding was we wanted everyone to have fun. After lockdown we all needed a pick me up and we couldn’t wait to have everyone in one room again laughing, dancing, and feeling the love. I had a lot of things saved on Pinterest and everything was very brightly coloured and felt full of life. I also wanted disco balls and this began as my first inspiration so then my retro theme for the decoration of the venue and stationery followed.

Tell us some more about your big day.

Our wedding day was so full of love. I just remember smiling all day. I don’t think I’ve ever felt that happy. It was the best feeling having everyone together again after so long apart and having everyone support our love story was incredible. Seeing our vision come to life too was so good. It was worth all the stress!

What is your favourite picture from you wedding day and why is this image so special to you?

I love all the photos from our wedding. I love the way the venue looks, I love everyone’s outfits, I love the happiness in everyone’s faces, but if I was to pick one it would be of us and our children walking down the cobbled street. Kenny has two children from previous relationships and Kenny and I have two Children with each other and we just all come together and love each other. All I’ve ever wanted was to be a mum and the fact I have these other children in my life is a complete blessing. They’re all what our lives are about.

Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Mirka Bridal Couture, Kirkcaldy?

My advice to future brides visiting Mirka’s boutique is don’t be scared to try lots of different types of dresses on because you might like parts of each and be able to get your dream dress made which you maybe didn’t think of before. Also have fun, it’s the best experience ever.
