Lizzie and Trevor

After 3 postponed wedding dates, Lizzie and Trevor finally got to celebrate their beautiful wedding with their friends and family at Comrie Croft

Lizzie found her dream dress at Mirka Bridal Couture. Our beautiful, free-flowing Ciana gown, which we must say was absolutely perfect for Lizzie and her wedding day.

How would you describe your Mirka Bridal Couture experience?

Better than I could have imagined. Nothing was too much trouble. I knew which dress I wanted, but with a white rather than nude underlay, and so that’s what I got! Mirka has such an eye for detail, and not just the beautiful aesthetics, like the hand sewn pearls and the immaculately hidden seams. She also included practical details, such as two different ways for me to hold my train up, elastic in the arms of my dress so I could dance the night away and made the length of my underskirt exactly perfect so I wouldn’t trip on it. Mirka is an extraordinarily talented designer and seamstress. I feel very lucky to have found her to make my wedding dress and wouldn’t change a thing.

Did you know it was the one right away, when you tried on the dress?

I knew before I tried it on! I’d seen it in a magazine and knew it was the dress for me.

What was your biggest wedding inspiration?

We got lots of ideas from instagram, pinterest, etc, but most of our inspiration came from our lovely venue and suppliers. Comrie Croft is a very special place, with an incredible team of people working there who set the tone for our wedding.

Tell us some more about your big day.

We had to postpone 3 times because of the COVID pandemic, but were so lucky in that our suppliers (including the wonderful Mirka) were very understanding and supportive. It was at Comrie Croft in Perthshire and was supposed to be in a woodland clearing, but the Scottish weather had other ideas so we moved it into the barn, with a beautiful floral arch by the incredible talented Tomnaha flowers, that helped to bring the outdoors in. It was very special to finally be able to exchange the vows we’d written in front of our family and friends after such a long wait. The day ended with a corker of a ceilidh, with the epic Greater Spotted Ceilidh Band playing for us. I stayed in my wedding dress, which definitely told the tale of a good party the next morning! Luckily Mirka was able to fix it back up for me and it now looks as good as new again

What is your favourite picture from your wedding day and why is this image so special to you?

Zoe & Sam caught a wonderful moment with us walking back down the aisle having just got married, with all 4 of our parents in the background. Everyone looks so joyful, it’s really heartwarming. We used the image on our thank you cards.

Finally, do you have any advice for future brides visiting Mirka Bridal Couture?

Lucky you! Ask about anything you’re even vaguely worried about. Mirka found solutions to every tiny little thing. You’re in great hands.
