How would you describe your Mirka Bridal Couture experience?
The experience was perfect. We first met the team at the The Scottish Wedding Show and booked an appointment as the dresses were unique and unlike any other boutique I’d seen - something I was looking for. Our appointment was fantastic. The dresses picked fit within my budget and there were a variety of styles to try. When I tried mine on everyone was so complimentary and we knew we’d found “the one.” Mirka was so helpful and flexible - arranging another appointment for my mum to come and see. I fell pregnant after this and gave birth 6 months before my wedding - Mirka was incredible. She delayed my alteration appointment as late as possible as my body was changing so much and the dress fit perfectly!
How did you know you’ve found THE dress for you?
My sister actually picked out my dress - I couldn’t imagine how it would look on from the hanger but the minute it was on I just knew - and so did everybody in the shop! Mirka was working through the back but even she came out and was so gushing.
Did you end up choosing a dress in the style you thought you were going to go for or was it something completely different?
I did not imagine my dress in my wildest dreams - I had never seen a dress like it. I was getting married in a historical home and I just knew it matched the venue and me!
Your wedding was so unique! What was your biggest wedding inspiration?
Most of our wedding was personal touches rather than one specific inspiration. We had decorations from my parent’s wedding and I really wanted a vintage feel with wild looking flowers.
What is your favourite picture from your wedding day and why is this image so special to you?
My favourite photo is when my husband and I kissed for the cameras and our alpaca guests kissed at the same time!
Finally, do you have any advice for future brides visiting Mirka Bridal Couture?
Buy a dress from Mirka! Your dress is so important for the day. When buying something so special I think it means so much more to buy from an independent boutique like Mirka’s - supporting a small business and getting something truly unique and tailored to you.
