Sara always loved the idea of creating a dress that would work for her as a curvy bride. She knew from the very beginning of her wedding adventure, that her dress was going to be fully customised.
However, before Sara found Mirka Bridal Couture she met with numerous bridal designers and carried out a vast amount of research. The process of searching online and looking at various Instagram accounts and published wedding videos helped Sara form a vivid image of what her dream dress would look like. During her research she discovered her love for dresses featuring a side split, in her opinion this design provided brides with a subtly sexy look.
After weeks of research and preparation, Sara decided to come to our salon in Kirkcaldy. She explained her ideas for the gown in great detail and Mirka began the process of making her one-off, bespoke wedding dress.
Sara says “it was an absolutely exceptional experience! Mirka understood exactly what I wanted from my wedding dress, she created various sketches, ran fabric past me, and was always willing to go the extra mile anytime I came into the store”.

Sara’s advice for other brides is to remember that it’s important that brides focus on positives rather than perceived negatives. She says that “It’s vital to think of all the features that you wish to highlight rather than those that you want to hide” and we couldn’t agree more!
She further emphasises the importance of having fun in the process of creating your gown, as it’s all an important part of the magical and memorable wedding experience which will last a
lifetime.
