Designing Natalie’s Dream Bespoke Gown
It is going to be an exciting yet nerve-wracking month for Natalie Ray and her husband, Stevie “Braveheart” Ray. As Stevie is about to undertake a fight that will determine if he is Scotland’s first MMA world champion or not, no pressure!
Back in November, the gorgeous Natalie Ray asked us to design her a bespoke gown to wear to a Professional Fighter’s League event in New York City, where she was supporting her husband Stevie, and we just couldn’t wait to get started on her bespoke dress.
Natalie came to Mirka at Mirka Bridal Couture with inspiration pictures, and together we created a sketch of her dream bespoke gown.
Our completely bespoke design service was perfect for Natalie, as she had a clear idea of what she wanted but was unable to find a dress of this kind anywhere. Mirka, our designer, worked with Natalie to perfect her vision and incorporate any ideas she had to create the ultimate bespoke gown.
Once the sketch was finalized, we embarked on the fabric sampling phase. Assisting Natalie every step of the way, we guided her in choosing the ideal lace, main fabric, and exquisite appliqués to breathe life into her vision. Each element was meticulously selected to ensure every detail exuded elegance and beauty.
Back in November 2022, the BBC was documenting the tense run-up to Stevie’s fight. Part of this documentary included Natalie getting her dress for the event in New York, so the BBC stopped by Mirka Bridal Couture in Kirkcaldy to get a closer look at her bespoke gown. We were so excited!

This truly one-of-a-kind gown handmade in Kirkcaldy from start to finished, featured an elevated style of layers of lace and appliqués while showcasing a double-leg split, which highlights Natalie’s amazing figure. It is most definitely a new favourite of the bespoke event dresses we have made!
We can’t get over how stunning Natalie looks in her bespoke gown, and we are so grateful that we got to play a part in creating her dream dress!
